Recently in class we have been discussing Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement and what not...here are the memorable quotes.

(on the bus boycotts) "...and some of the buses got destroyed by fire!"

"The Black Panther Party was like...violent."

(on laws) "So, what you're saying is, how the law is written affects how people behave? So if our laws were written differently we would behave differently?...." (that little bit of logic went on for awhile, but I couldn't keep up with her to write it all down)(that's circular reasoning kittens)

Then we changed topic to the PATRIOT Act and terrorism and that sort of thing. Again, she is brilliant on this topic.

"The government is afraid of EVERYONE!"

"I think the government is starting to be afraid of its own citizens. They need to take a step back and say 'not everyone we meet is going to commit an act of terror'."

(then she told this story) "When we used to go to the airport, we had to get our bags checked and then wait around until they said it was ok and we could go. We're supposed to feel like we're more in control...but I think its gotten a little lax."

THEN this other crazy girl (we will refer to her as 'girl who constantly rocks in her seat'...no joke) had this to add to the discussion.

(on the government investigating what books people check out) "...if there is a terrorist attack, only people who check out thest book are suspects? NOOOOOO!"

What a day it was in Philosophy today...

The story of this blog:

So, Allyn (giraffalope) and I decided to take a philosophy class together this semester. We are both kind of philosophical folk, so it seemed like a fairly brilliant idea. We went to class the first day, and all seemed well in the class, until this question was asked:

"What is thought?"

That is when SHE raised her hand and responded "Well, you take your thoughts and you think about things."

......WHAT?!?!

Later, her second response to the question was, "Thought can be distracting. In my last class I couldn't pay attention because I was thinking about things."

.........WHAT?!?!

The ridiculousness continued for several more classes, and Allyn and I decided this shit needed to be documented, in blog-form. Then came the issue of-whatever shall we call said blog.

The answer came to us (BRILLIANTLY) one night when we were a little....well, not low. Allyn was playing Rez, and in an epiphany, it became clear our blog should be called technotunnel.

PROBLEM. That was taken. By some asshole who hadn't updated in like a year. Lame-o.

Next idea-technocake! PROBLEM. That was taken as well, by some asshole who had never once written anything.

Leaving us with the still awesome, but less than desirable, technocrust...and so here we are. We will update every now and again, when this girl (Caitlyn or Katelyn...or something Cringle is her name) says crazy things...because its fucking funny and the world shoud know about it.

The end.
